Step Inside the Factory Behind American Time

For nearly 130 years, every Chelsea Clock has been born in one place: Chelsea, Massachusetts. Now, for the first time, we're inviting a select few to see it, learn it, and take part in an unforgetable experience.

The Factory Experience

Every experience we offer begins the same way — through our doors. This is a working factory, not a museum, and that's exactly what makes it rare. Here, master clockmakers still carry forward a craft most of the world has forgotten, using knowledge passed down verbally from one clockmaker to the next.

Access the history, craftsmanship, and expertise Chelsea Clock has preserved for more than a century. Step inside a tradition few outsiders have ever seen, learn directly from the people who carry it forward, and become part of the ongoing story of American clockmaking.

What you'll find inside:

Our factory floor in Chelsea, MA — the same city where it all began in 1897

Company records dating back to our founding, tracking every clock we've ever sold

Antique blueprints, original designs, and a private collection of rare Chelsea clocks

Century-old machines still running alongside state-of-the-art manufacturing

A first look at designs not yet released to the public

The sound of our Ship's Bell Chime, ringing throughout the building

Time with Chelsea's master clockmakers and engineers — several with more than 50 years on the factory floor

Trade secrets passed down verbally through generations, taught nowhere else

Chelsea Clock Foundry

Where stories are forged into heirlooms.
Discover Foundry

Spend a full day inside the factory that's kept American time since 1897. Tour the heritage archives, meet the master clockmakers who still carry the trade forward, and build and personalize your own Chelsea Clock — engraved, tested, and certified before you take it home.

Ideal for collectors, yacht owners, executives, and anyone marking a milestone worth remembering.

An immersive five-day program for collectors, enthusiasts, and lifelong learners who want more than a tour. Gain exclusive access to our factory, archives, and restoration workshop, and learn the fundamentals of horology, clockmaking, restoration, and preservation directly from our craftsmen. Graduates leave with a Chelsea Restoration Certificate — a recognition of personal achievement, not a trade license.

Enrollment limited; offered select dates throughout the year.

The most meaningful objects are not purchased. They are forged. Chelsea Foundry is our most exclusive offering — a private commission process built on forged brass and hand-assembled movements, transforming your story, achievements, and legacy into a one-of-one heirloom. Six commission categories, from the Captain's Commission to the rare Foundry One.

Commissions accepted on a limited basis each year.
