Chelsea mechanical clocks are heirloom-quality timepieces built to hold value and last for generations. Our 4L and 12E mechanical movements are designed, manufactured and assembled by skilled craftspeople and master clockmakers in our Chelsea, Massachusetts factory. Each movement requires extensive hands-on manufacturing and assembly involving forged brass material, followed by several weeks of cumulative testing and adjustment at multiple stages to ensure accuracy, reliability and quality before a clock is completed. With hundreds of individual components working together, these movements represent more than a century of American precision engineering and craftsmanship.
