Repair & Restoration
Repair Services:
The standard phrase used to describe service of your mechanical movement is "clean, oil and repair." The components of your clock's working movement are completely disassembled and ultrasonically cleaned. Each component is then carefully inspected for wear. Worn or broken components are replaced with new components. Cracked jewels are replaced with new jewels. New mainsprings are automatically fitted. The working movement is then reassembled, oiled, regulated and accuracy-tested for two weeks.
Restoration Services:
We can restore most Chelsea Clocks to their original appearance. Other brands can usually be fully restored, depending on the condition of the clock. The clock's case, dial (face), and hands can be refinished if you desire. Brass cases that have tarnish can be restored to their original brilliance. All old lacquer is removed before polishing and buffing. A new clear lacquer seal is then applied. Dials can be re-silvered and hands repainted. We also offer wood base refinishing and restoration services. For a free estimate, simply complete a service request form and ship your clock to our facility. Charges for case, dial, hand, and base refinishing will be quoted separately. All movement and refinishing service work is warranted for two years.
