Meeting at the Pentagon

June 30, 2009- Chelsea Clock Company of Chelsea, MA, presented to the U.S. Navy three custom-made and engraved Chelsea Clocks to honor the Navy personnel involved in the successful rescue of Captain Richard Phillips of the Maersk – Alabama from the Somalia pirates. The clocks were presented directly to Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Gary Roughead. The clocks were offered by Chelsea Clock to recognize the heroism and valor of the crewmen aboard the USS Bainbridge and the USS Boxer, and the always present heroism and valor of the entire U.S. Navy. Admiral Roughead accepted the clocks on the Navy’s behalf at his Pentagon headquarters.

An Honor and a Privilege

“It is an honor and a privilege to accept these clocks on behalf of the US Navy”, said Admiral Roughead as he admired the clocks. He noted the long relationship between the Navy and Chelsea Clock. The USS Bainbridge and the USS Boxer will each receive a personally inscribed clock to display on the ship. Additionally, the clock presented to the U.S. Navy and CNO Admiral Roughead will eventually retire to the US Navy Museum.
