The Bellamy Eagle Clock is a stunning commemorative mechanical clock that honors the legacy of a legendary nautical woodcarver. When Chelsea Clock was founded in 1897, John Haley Bellamy of Kittery, Maine was well into his career as a nationally known folk artist. Known best for his precisely stylized wooden eagles, Bellamy's reputation has lived on long after his death, with some authenticated pieces having fetched hundreds of thousands of dollars at auction.

Our limited-edition eagle clocks are commissioned and hand-carved by sculptor Vincent Harrild of West Newbury, Massachusetts in reverence to the recognizable Bellamy style. The carving is done from reclaimed native eastern white pine wood that is an estimated 150 years old. In addition to using Bellamy eagle carving techniques, Harrild gives each clock bold colorization through hand-applied pigments and 23-karat-gold leafing.

At the center of the carving is a just-as-carefully crafted Chelsea timepiece. The 4.5-inch mechanical movement has precision brass parts with a solid brass case, hand-silvered dial, hinged bezel, bold Roman numerals and a lacquered finish. Everything sits on a traditional mahogany base; we will add a solid brass engraving plate at no extra charge.

John Bellamy eagle clocks are made to order and only available through Chelsea Clock. The piece is signed by Harrild and comes with a certificate of authenticity. As for the clock, it has a five-year warranty and is made to last a lifetime. Call us at (866) 899-2805 to learn more about ordering a Bellamy clock eagle for yourself or as a statement gift.

Customer Testimonials

★★★★★

"I just opened my father's brand new Chelsea boardroom clock and WOW! It is absolutely exquisite. The engraving is beautiful and the clock itself is a work of art."

Haley C.
★★★★★

"I was thrilled to discover that Chelsea Clock Company is still in business making and servicing their clocks for over 120 years. I was able to have my 1906 Ship’s Bell clock’s movement cleaned and a new coat of lacquer applied to the brass case. The craftsmanship is exemplary, suitable for something you’d expect to see on display in a museum collection."

Bill M.
★★★★★

"I recently ordered 2 clocks with engravings as leaving presents for 2 colleagues. The office was excellent in working with us in formatting the text to fit the clocks, and accommodating our short timeline. The clocks looked beautiful and loved by the recipients."
